WELCOME TO UNIVERSITY LODGE No.496
The University Lodge of Ancient, Free, and Accepted Masons was formed in 1910 by staff, graduates, and friends of University of Toronto. This connection with higher education continues today among the current membership where all Toronto Universities are represented.
With almost all past and present members being university graduates, University Lodge truly has earned its name among the Masonic brotherhood. Our brethren are professionals in many fields including Architecture, the Arts, Biology, Mathematics, Music, Business, International Affairs and Diplomacy, Banking, Chemistry, Economics, Education, Engineering, Law, Pharmacy, and Medicine.
The members of this Lodge have given leadership in all areas of life, some having served high office in the public domain, including two Lieutenant Governors of Ontario, two Presidents of University of Toronto, many deans and chairmen. Several of our members have served on the Board of Governors of the University.
